Student Data Privacy

All schools, regardless of flexibility decisions, are required to follow FERPA Student Data Privacy Laws.

Opt-In: All district-adopted resources meet the FERPA Student Data Privacy Laws. If a school or teacher wants to use an online tool where there is no data sharing agreement, they would follow the process on this page (which is also covered in this video).  There are permission slips on the right side of that page.

Decline to Opt-In: If a school leader has declined district resources, it is that school leader’s responsibility to ensure that all replacement resources meet the FERPA Student Data Privacy Laws. Schools should work with strategic sourcing to purchase replacement resources by contacting Maggie_Wolf@dpsk12.org. If a school or teacher wants to use an online tool where there is no data sharing agreement, they would follow the process on this page (which is also covered in this video).  There are permission slips on the right side of that page.
